Cowan Museum of History and Science

Founded by George and Ila Cowan in 1981 and dedicated to their daughter, Joann Cowan Brown, the Cowan Museum of History and Science is housed within the Kelly-Farrior House (ca. 1848) and has an adjacent historical park. The collections consist primarily of 19th-20th century (with several 18th century) tools and equipment, including farm and woodworking tools, and household objects. The museum also has a natural science collection with hundreds of geological specimens, and other unique artifacts, such as a tornado demonstrator, an alternative fuel fan, and a hog oiler.
