Kenan Park Main Street, Kenansville 910.296.9547 The showcase of this park is its modern play equipment for young children that was built by local citizens in 2003. The play equipment area is enclosed and located near the shaded picnic facilities. Older children and adults will enjoy use of the parks basketball court, tennis court, and baseball/softball field. In the spring, the park serves as a box lunch dining hall and recess when school field trips visit Liberty Hall and Cowan Museum. www.kenansville.org
Walking trail Agriculture Drive, Kenansville A hard-surface walking trail is available to the public daily at the Duplin Commons complex just outside of Kenansville and across from James Sprunt Community College. The trail has a number of rest stations along its 2/3-mile length.
Northeast Community Park North N.C. Hwy. 41, Wallace The park is located east of Wallace off N.C. 41, on the north side of the road. The public is welcome. A play area, walking trail, rest rooms, and baseball/softball field opened in 2007. This site is a Northeast Ruritan Club project.
Lake Leamon Campground 5357 N.C. Hwy. 41, Wallace 910.285.3875 RV hookups, tent sites, swimming, showers, campfires and boat ramp are available at the campsite. Water skiing is also allowed. Recreation room, picnic tables and grills are available. Pets on leashes allowed. Season: April-September.
