To find all things quirky, along with some lovely sweets, jellies, jams, wine and great antiques – Duplin County is the place!  The first stop on your trek is Riverside Barn Antiques.  Be sure to get there right when they open.  This place is huge and lots of fun stuff.  The 2nd stop is The Tipsy Bee in Chinquapin.  They make wine and sweets like you can only find in Eastern North Carolina.  The 3rd stop – before lunch is The Florist at Warsaw.  They’ve got a lot more than flowers and have just expanded with an even wider assortment of antiques and collectibles.  Map of the tour

Saturday Afternoon: Tasting & Tours – Duplin Winery

It’s time to head back to the largest winery in the South, Duplin Winery.  Tastings at the tasting bar a a lot of fun  and tours of the winery are free!  You’ll learn about the nuances of wine sampling and the 5 S’s of wine tasting:  sight, smell, swirl, sip and savor.  Enjoy!

Sunday Lunch: The Country Squire


Lunch at “The Squire”, as the locals refer to it, is a true dining experience.  Be sure to take a tour of the place – it is very beautiful and quite unique!  They’ve got fantastic menu items, including surf and turf.  My personal favorite is the chicken teriyaki paired with a delicious glass of Country Squire’s own Highlander Cabernet/Merlot Blend.
