Duplin Winery

Take a winemaker’s tour of the South’s oldest and largest winery and then taste your way through specially selected sips at this location where Duplin began producing its famous muscadine wines almost a half-century ago. Tour guides lead you on a 30-minute journey through the history of America’s native grapes and how Duplin crafts its award-winning wines. Along the way, you’ll see the massive crushing pad, taste muscadine grape juice before it becomes wine and then sample wine rolling off the bottling line. And, you’ll take a bottle home! Wear comfortable shoes and book the $13 tour in the winery’s retail room. Tours are offered Monday-Friday. After the tour, sit down for a Deluxe Wine Tasting that includes 10 white, red and blush wines plus Duplin’s famous cheese dip and house made crackers. During the $15 tasting, you’ll keep notes on a keepsake tasting sheet and get pairing and recipe tips from expert tasting guides. Also, plan delicious pairings at The Bistro restaurant, home to Chef Bert’s awesome Southern-cooking specials and half-pound Angus burgers. Don’t miss pastry Chef Tabatha’s beloved cheesecakes. Browse the winery gift shop featuring homemade fudge, Duplin Gourmet muscadine-infused foods and distinctive gifts. Spend a day or plan a weekend at Duplin. Holiday dinner shows, Fudge & Wine pairings, the grand Grape Stomp party in September and Girls Night Out events full of sips, nibbles and deals are among fun things to do throughout the year. Tickets are required for most events. Reservations are recommended for dining at The Bistro. Reunions, receptions, weddings, business meetings and private parties are also welcome to book the winery, The Bistro or the gorgeous Chapel Event Center at Duplin’s Vineyards.
