There is nothing like a summer day of soaking in the sun while taking in the peaceful sights and sounds of nature.
Cabin Lake County Park, in Duplin County, is just the place to enjoy some relaxation and recreation in the great outdoors. The beautifully maintained park is open nearly year-round and has many nice amenities to enjoy. As you drive in, you might be greeted by Savannah, a Duplin County native, from Kenansville. She says that she meets many local residents as well as campers coming from all over the State of North Carolina as well as places like Delaware and Virginia.
Located about five miles north of Beulaville on Highway 111, the park’s amenities have something for everyone to enjoy, including a boat ramp, a 2.2 mile hiking trail and camping sites. If you enjoy paddling, you can rent a boat from the park for a reasonable cost. Cabin Lake County Park is host to a few fishing contests throughout the year with plenty of winners proudly featured in the photo album you can find in the Operations Center.
Have you got a family reunion or get together to plan? The picnic shelter with the playground located next to it is the perfect spot to gather. Enjoy the shade while the kids jump around and take a trip down the slide. For your convenience, public restrooms and bathhouses with showers are nearby making it easy to wash up and cool off after a day of boating and swimming.
